I tried shutting the main water valve off and discovered the valve leaks (and it looks like it has been leaking for quite some time because there is a puddle underneath the valve). How in the world do you change a valve like that? Is there a way to shut the water off BEFORE it comes into the house? Or will I need to call a plumber?
