door will open but not close

The garage door will open after pushing opener but will not close unless the button is held in. When button is pushed to close the light blinks rpeatedly. The same case is true for the remote for door. Model#13953525srt serial#324232a00513 craftsman 1/2 h.p. MFG. date 6/93
