toilets,round and round

for older homes. I searched and searched for answers! replaced parts My toilet would go round. the answer for me was mineral, calcium? build-up. look it the small holes around the rim first then the bottom of the toilet opposite orf the big hole where the waste should be going. If the flow is not enough to force the waste down you may have to put your hand into the bowl and feel the opening. It should be smooth like the surface of the rim. ceramic. My toilet had a buildup of mineral, whatever it was: i had to chip it out with a stubby screwdiver. after this we had full flushes. Strange but true. not one of the numerous plumbing sites suggested possible mineral buildup as a problem. meanjoe
