Try a product called "Goo Gone" sold at home centers, supermarkets, etc. It is a citrus based product that will remove the tape residue. Follow the instructions carefully and make sure to rinse the surface afterwards. This is a helpful cleaner for those annoying gummed UPC stickers you find on everything these days. It' also decent at removing crayon marks, tar and so on. Good luck...
