I wouldn't install vinyl or ceramic floor tile over any chipboard-based substrate. Most mfgrs. recommend approved plywood (see warranty and/or installation instructions for more info), and that it be at least TWO (2) layers totalling at least 3/4" in thickness. So, installing over virgin 3/4" T&G subflooring is taboo.
