The paint on my aluminum siding is flaking off, exposing the gray metal. The siding was added in either the 1960's/'70's to an additional on the house. Do I paint or get new siding? If paint, what kind -- latex or oil; what's the prep. work -- tsp, scrapping/sanding, etc. If painted, what's the lifespan?
