even tho i'm on the opposite coast, i am struggling with alot of the same questions... FYI there is such a thing as a "removeable" grid...they look permanant and VERY nice, but can be removed for cleaning!!! <:-) they tell me that the Cardinal low E 2 (squared) is the most effective, but also the most costly - out here @ $28 / sq ft <:-(...we are looking at a combination of energy efficient and sound proofing...so, we are looking at low E 2 with dual glazed (different thincknesses of glass). they said that argon seeps out at a rate of about 15-20% / yr. How does that Krypon hold up? they recommended laminating 1 of the sheets of glass in addition to low E ...VERY pricey, but maybe needed on only 1 side of the house...
