Window Opening in Concrete Wall

I have a daylight/walkout basement with windows in the concrete wall that are roughly 6' x 3'. I want to cut the wall out below the existing windows to install say 2 - 2'8" x 5' side by side windows. This gives me better appearance as well as view to the mountains.
Do I need to have this engineered?....If it was a framed wall and I was not changing the header it would be no big deal...does this work the same??
