How do I replace the drywall?

Here is the layout without exact measurements: one wall, one window, one chimney running through. Between the wall and the chimney is the missing drywall, under which displays some piping and insulation. The lack of drywall appears approx 2'' from the chimney and continues approx a foot to the window, floor to ceiling. No carpentry experience, how do I fix it? Eager to learn - appears to be a simple job. Am I wrong? Thanks for the help!
