Converting portable dishwasher to built-in set up

My husband and I have a small kitchen with very little existing cabinet space and we need a dishwasher. We are planning to solve the problem by buying a portable/convertible unit and setting it up next to the end of the existing cabinets. We don't want to keep rolling it over to the sink, so we want to convert it and run the plumbing from the back behind the cabinets.
The manufacturer says that we need a conversion kit to do this. The store says that they don't sell conversion kits, the manufacturer says that they can't tell me who sells them or who can do it, and they say that if we do it ourselves, we void the warrantee.
What's the solution?
