Does anyone know if pouring a concrete second floor is possible in residential poured-concrete construction? If so, how do I do it? See, these "concrete contractor" morons around here swear up and down that no such thing is possible either phisically or financially, because such a floor/ceiling can't be properly braced from below due to the immense weight of the wet concrete. But in "tornado alley" it makes little sense to build a tornado-proof concrete house without some similar protection over the top where, after all, most tornado damage occurs. Any ideas?
