My house was built in 1951 and I am about to install some recessed lighting in my living room, the question I have is how do I go about wiring the new recessed lights to the old wiring in the house. My house has Bx cable through out, am I suppose to continue using Bx cable to wire the lighting or do I go ahead and use the sheathed electrical cable wiring? And if so what do I do with the "ground wire"? Second part to my question, can I pull power from my ceiling fan in my dining room to power my recessed lights and still have a separate switch to turn just the recessed light off?
