I had to order a special anode rod for my hot water tank due to it reacting with my water from my well. In order for the whole thing to fit in it I have to remove the plumbing and disconnect the electric wires and then tilt the tank to get the rod in which I can do but don't want because I don't want to go to all that trouble. Is it possible to cut the rod in half and tap both ends and link them together so it will go in the tank or should I just cut a little off the new rod and put it in?
