I just had a quote from Baths Plus for the same thing, ripping out the tub and intalling a shower and it came to $4,895. So if you can get it done for $3,000 that might be a good deal. Alternatively, you can buy the kit at Lowe's for less than $500, but then you still may need to buy the cement-board for the backing and do the install yourself, including possibly relocationg the drain. So how much is your time and their expertise worth? I'm having Bathfitter give a quote this weekend, so we'll see how it compares.
