don't use high pressure.it could be just like pounding on it with a hammer.unless you have moss or something else growing on it you don't even need to use pressure.
as far as the paint goes,use a latex based.you don't want to encapsulate moisture that might sneek in.
when you start painting,if you see the stucco absorbing the paint then you know will be good.
