Sears Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door Remote Problems

I have a remote that has stopped working. I changed the batteries, still will not work. I do not have the instructions on how to reset. I tried what it said on the actual opener, but did not work. There are three buttons on the remote, not sure what they are for. Can anyone help me please?? Thanks!
