Utility sink plumbing

I am planning to add a utility sink next to our laundry area in our basement. The washing machine drains into a pipe coming up from the floor to 3 or 4 feet above the floor and apparently goes directly to the city sewer under the house. What is the best way to plumb the sink drain to the washing machine drain?
