I have same problem. I plan on removing the window and replacing with glass blocks from home depot/lowes. Will have to wait until i remodel.

I currently have plastic up. The kind for winterizing. I put it up around the wood and used a hair dryer to shrink it. It has worked ok, but i would suggest replacing the moulding with vinyl or replacing the window with the glass blocks.
