** new door gasket/seal kit for Kenmore dishwasher, mod # 587.771304 Does anyone know the specific instructions? **

I believe the replacement seal should come with them. If it isn't mentioned, soak the new seal in hot water first to make it more pliable.

The first time the door is closed it will be (possibly really) tight. Leave it closed until the seal cools again and 'forms' to the shape of the door.

** I have not yet removed the old one. **

There will likely be a bracket at the base of the door requiring a couple of screws to be loosened. The rest of the seal clips to the tub.

BTW. If the reason it is being replaced was leaking out the bottom of the door, check the condition of the 'splash guard' at the base, inside the door and also the lower spray arm for a split down its seam.
