Some more info. The house is in central Tenn. so labor rates are relatively low. Its located on 2 acres 5 mi out of town, so no problem disposing of the dirt. Re influencing the foundation, we can stay well clear of it, just need enough open space to permith actual crawling, to allow proper inspection of the foundation, floor joists, etc, and for possible termites. Also, to put down a moisture barrier. I estimate the dimen. of house to be 35x40 ft, so going from 12" to 32" clearance would produce about 260 cu yd dirt--a good pile of dirt.
