water line

the water line is either 1/4 or 3/8.you can purchase a kit.if it were me i would keep the old line but install a filter(instead of a shutoff)behind the refrigerator.if you want to put a shutoff in line on a tube it would be a shutoff with compression fittings on both sides matching the tube size that it's going onto.just another place for a leak to develop.
