Rhino Shield will tell customers they manufacture their own product through a company called "Amcoat." In fact, Amcoat Technolgies does not manufacture the product. The product is manufactured by a company called "Nationwide Chemicals" in Bradenton, Florida. Rhinoshield is very costly to the customers, but pretty in-expensive for Rhinoshield to get. Keeping customers from knowing the real manufacuturer aids in keeping homeowners from figuring this out. In some cases, as in the case of Rhinoshield of California, their website names Amcoat as the manufacturer. However, I have been told that Nationwide has recently added a link to their website describing their relationship with Rhinoshield. Maybe this is because people have started to figure them out. To my knowledge Rhinoshield has made a successful business out of selling a rather inexpensive product for outrageously high prices. On some Rhinoshield websites it claims that Rhinoshield has been around since 1977, some say 1998, some say more recently. However, the brand name Rhinoshield didn't come about until the end of 2001 and was created by a company that had switched products and names multiply times in just 3 or 4 years. Oh yea, how do I know this? Because I was working with a company that was originaly called Procraf selling liquid siding, then was Amcoat selling Ceramic Gaurd then Amcoat Coatings, and I was there when they came up with the name Rhinoshield and found Nationwide Chemicals to get it from.
