I have a small sump pump in my basement which up until last week was working fine. I don't know the age of the pump it does not look that old, I have lived in my home for three years. I know nothing about sump pumps, wondered if you could help. There is approximately ten inches of clean water in the sump and it has two oval holes approximately two inches in diameter on each side of the sump, the pump itself stands about a foot and a half in length. The pump ran briefly, about ten seconds afer I remove some water from the sump. after removing about twenty gallons of water I did not notice the water level getting lower, can you tell me why? The drain pipe goes from the pump straight up about three feet and then runs straight about fifteen feet to the end where it drains when working. any help you can give will be appreciated. thankyou.
