Vinegar and chlorine are attractants to sewer flies. Both salt and very hot water can kill them.

Also the flies are as likely to be living in the motar between the tiles and the shower.

So here's my treatment that shows results fast: pour a small stream of table salt in around the edges of the the shower floor and 1/4 cup in the drain after the last shower of the day.

Repeat for three or four days. That's it. Also--use as a preventative if you smell sewer gas in your shower.
