There is no "paint" I am aware of that will withstand the heat (... for long) in that proximity to a burner, without discoloring and looking worse than before. They would have to be porcelained.

You can try some of the companies listed in the "Restoration" category of the 'Appliance Links' section of my web site linked below to see if they can do such a job on your originals.
