If you are using the vinyl tubing you need a small metal tube that sides into the tube. Other wise the compression fitting will just crush the tube.

But those are not recommend althrough they are sold as kits. Many applicance dealers won't connect them up because they have had them break and leak.

If you are using a braided flexable hose then there is a rubber seal in the end. Either it is missing or defective.
