I have a newly constructed home in which the front of the fireplace hearth bricks and carpet gets wet every time there is a strong blowing rain. The inside of the fireplace box gets no water at all. The builder has checked and sealed the flashing and also the cedar siding that meets with the exterior brick has been sealed. He is stumped. I think we need an expert opinion at this point. Do any of you have any suggestions? Thanks.
