Cedar Siding--Power Washing/Staining/Treating

I have a Cedar Sided Home and it is dirty looking. I want to Power Wash it and I have to treat it with Thompson Sealer (or something Like that). I want to do this on my own but I have no Idea what I should do. Is this too big of a job for a woman? I have to take care of this house and I can't afford the prices I got quoted to do it? ($1800.00) Please I need advise.
