If you're going to put laminate floors in a kitchen, I would use a system that glues together with waterproof glue. Armstrong laminate flooring and Pergo install the same. Once the system is installed properly, it is virtually impervious to spills. By the way, Pergo is a type of particle board and Armstrong is a high-pressure laminate (go to Lowes).
