Patching Stucco after blow-in insulation

Im considering doing this work myself, however,
after having done some stucco repairs in the past,
Im wondering how to patch the 3-4" diameter hole
that remains in my stucco after Im done. Since the
hole is round (I assume), do I just mold up some
stucco chicken wire and put it in each hole and
stucco it up? How about the paper/tar vapor seal
that is broken during the drilling?

Also, what's the best way to create the holes?
Air chisel? Some-type of massive drill bit?
