I recently built a home with both a well and an aerobic septic system. I had every intention of installing a water softener as the well water is quite hard (off the scale). I'm in a quandry now as sodium I'm told can kill the bacteria in the septic system, the potassium units do the same. I'm not sur the magnetic based devices really work. What's the right answer.
