I'm getting ready to start 52 squares of cedar shakes in temple, tx. I've done cedar shakes in Vail, CO when we used a narrow crown staple gun (approx 1/2 in x 2" staple). These are top of the line center sawn shakes. Can I as a carpenter, tell the owner that this is a proper fastener? How many per shingle should I use and how should I space then out, especially on large shingles?
