smelly washing machine and towel odor

We had a bad odor coming from our washer. It even transferred to our towels and clothing. Vinegar, bleach or baking soda would remove it for a little while but it always came back. We finally called for repair and the guy just filled it up with hot water and added a tablespoon of a washer cleaner called "PUREWASHER". The smell was gone the next day! We ordered some and it works great for removing towel mildew smell too!
