Winterizing

I have a house that will be vacant all this winter and located in Michigan. I would like to just shut off the heat, but leave on the electrical. I am concerned that the plaster may crack etc. being as this house is over a 100 years old. Also, since the heat will be off and I am planning on leaving on the refrigerator and freezer, what preperation should I do to ensure that they will still be running this spring?
