I bought the silestone countertop called stellar night and had it installed in April of 2007. 2 weeks ago I chipped the countertop with the bottom of a bottle of wine. Not a very hard impact at all. I called Silestone, Home Depot and the installers. All of them told me the counter top was under warranty and they would repair it. Someone came from Stone Systems to inspect it and he then told me it wouldn't be covered. I don't understand why 3 different people told me it would be. I'm currently disputing this with Home Depot. Not to mention, the man from Stone Systems then told me that the counter top I chose is prone to chips, because of the pieces of glass mixed in. That there are actually air pockets sometimes and I probably hit one of them. Why isn't this something that is revealed to the consumer before purchasing the product. I spent well over $3,000 on this countertop and have had it 7 months and it chips? Now they want me to pay to fix it? Is this something I can fix by myself? An if so, with what? and where do I get it.
