building the birdbox

Hi, i have just built a 6'x8' large dog house for my two dogs with one of them being a big st.bernard , the reason for it being so big. I am having trouble building the what i know as the birdboxes at the end of the roof and the soffit end. can someone tell me how to do this right? Thanks,Joseph45
