Repair wooden strip in concrete driveway

Our house was purchased five years ago. The builder used wooden boards and spacers in our concrete driveway.
They are beginning to rot. What is the best way to repair and replace these wooden strips in concrete driveway.
Is chipping out the only way?

Any suggestions.
