Hardwood Groove to Groove

Can I install a row of hardwood that have the groove attached to the groove. My room is mostly rectangualar, with a small square off to one side in one room. This area is on the groove side of the wood, and to be able to nail down the wood on that side would mean I would have to start at the other end and hope it will meet up.

Can I install a short row groove to groove and continue the installation in the opposite direction?
