Another couple of options that may work are the flap wheel sanders that you put in a drill or little rubber profiles called "tadpoles" that you wrap with sandpaper and hand sand. Another option is a detail scraper with various sized heads to get in and scrape out the gunk.

Unfortunately, there is no speedy solution that I'm aware of.
