As I remember it this song was also sung on radio years ago by Dorothy Shea (or Shay) "The Park Avenue Hill-billy" and Judy Kanova and I believe that Bing Crosby had a cover of the song too.
Dorothy Shea also had out "Feudin' a-fussin' and a fightin" at about the same time in the 1950's.
Why can't the damned song writers come up with funny songs like these any more- about like the beginnings of RAP when DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Bobby Brown and Tone Lok had truly funny Rap songs out-before the advent of the "MF" Word took over.
