Spooky garage door

My garage door goes up and down at random intervals all by itself. The opener is a Craftsman Model 139.53614SR which has dip switches in the remotes. The unit has performed flawlessly for 10 years or more and only started this in the past few weeks. I have another unit that I bought used for parts and am thinking about swapping out the control boards. Does this sound like a good idea, or am I wasting my time fooling with this old unit?
