It seems as though you too have been drinking too much of the Cambria Koolaid and have posted several things that are not true. My backround is in quartz fabrication and slab sales. Silestone offers the widest selection of colors and styles at 60 colors offered. Cambria offers only 36. Cambria employs a 4 color process when manufacturing product and Silestone uses a 5 color process. Translation: wider array of patterns with Silestone. You stated that Silestone is offered in both The Home Depot and Lowe's. Silestone is NOT offered in Lowe's. Lowe's offers Dupont Zodiaq and LG Viatera. The Silestone warranty is better at 15 years versus 10 years for Cambria. Cambria has been in the stone industry and has only been in existence for 6 years versus over 70 years in the stone business for Silestone's parent company, Costentino. The single price point of Cambria is not all its cracked up to be. The single price point for Cambria can vary depending on the fabricator but usually is around $63 per sq ft in my part of the country. The most expensive Silestone colors (Group E) are priced less than $63 per sq ft. If you decided to purchase a basic color in Cambria ( a white) you would overpay by approximately $15 sq ft because Silestone would offer an identical color for a price in the $48 sq ft range. The Silestone fabrication/installer network is strictly controlled and there are not a bunch of "Hacks" out there fabricating and installing product. In order to become a Certified Silestone Installer you must attend a course at Costentino U.S. headquarters in Houston,TX. Lastly, lets clear up some misinformation about templating. The type of templating that is done is done by the fabricator/installer and not by Cambria. There are many Cambria fabricators/installers that still use the old stick templates.
