yes soot. I really didn't want to finish the cleaning. 10 years worth of build up without a cap on the roof.

My hands are still black and my floors are hard to clean.

I used a vaccumm which made it so easy sucking the stuff down. I got about 2 feet up but can feel it's still packed in there.

Amazing I've been running the boiler for 3 months now like that!
