Unused duct vent in basement ceiling

Posted by erwinsto on November 18th, 2007 08:58 AM

i recently drywalled my basement ceiling and had a duct line that was too low (already have 3 other vents in the basement) and decided I could do without this 4th vent. Do I need to close off the line or am I ok just letting it vent in to the drywall ceiling. Initially I thought I should close but assume this is no different than closing a vent which I have read does not do much good in terms of energy savings or balancing.
