As its a place you're renting you should have them get it inspected asap. Any kind of heat in an outlet box is a bad sign. Just because the breaker isn't tripping doesn't mean that something bad can happen. Home electrical problems account for 67,800 fires, 485 deaths a year... Get your electrical inspected!
