Clarification

Thanks for the info. For clarification, I have two switches that operate the same light. This is the case for most of the lights in my house for some reason...so at any given time, a light may be off, but one of the corresponding switches will be on. It seems obsessive, but in some cases there are four switches on one plate, so it gets confusing. I would think if they were all in the off position...then their corresponding lights should all be off. I was hoping to learn how to correct the problem.
