If someone else installed it. Make them fix it.
If you installed it; what kind is it? The matte looking stuff from HD can be sanded down with a floor sander. Use a 180-220 grit paper. If it's the high gloss stuff that costs a lot of money; I'd get a pro. You probably won't have access to the sanding stuff necessary for that type of stone.
