Rubbermaid makes a strip and clip system that you can install either flush inside a cabinet or into a dado. They are metal strips, sort of like the old adjustable shelving strips, but instead of long brackets to hold the shelves, you insert shelf clips on either side and they hold the shelves.

The Rubbermaid website has them, but "Not Available for Purchase on Rubbermaid.com." Not sure if you might be able to locate them near you somewhere. Good luck!
