Correct way to install aluminum window casing? Posted by DavesHammer on January 14th, 2008 01:32 PM
We had some windows replaced last week and the installer installed aluminum casing to the exterior using nails. I didn't think that was the correct way to install casing. For one it does not have a smooth look to the casing and secondly you're putting holes in the aluminum, making it possible for water to work its way to the unpainted wood behind the aluminum. Before speaking with the installer about my concerns I want to confirm if this is an acceptable way to install casing.
I appreciate your advice.
