Blown-in insulation

Posted by jrstueve on January 15th, 2008 02:27 PM

I bought a 1950's house about a year ago. I live in Minnesota and can definitely feel the winters through the walls. I have been doing some research on ways to better insulate my home, since I am not sure what type of insulation was used prior. I was thinking that blown-in insulation (cellulose) would be the best choice for me (financially). Is this alright? Also, I was thinking about blowing it in the walls from the outside--do I need to blow it in the top and bottom of the stud gap?? Any info would be helpful....thanks,
